Job 42:2
How powerful do you
think God is? I know that we refer to Him as the Creator of the Universe. We
call him the Almighty. But, in your personal life, how powerful do you think
God is? It’s one thing to think of God’s awesome power being active in
Creation, the parting of the Red Sea, or even the fire that came down on Mount
Carmel. Those are all historical references that are somewhat removed from our
day to day life. I have heard many Christians say that they “know” or “believe
that God is at work in their lives. So, how powerful do you think God is? Or
lives are intricately interwoven with the lives of those around us. Each of us
affects and responds to the other. In the midst of this ever-changing tapestry
of terrestrialism, God’s plan is at work. We each may play a part in helping or
in hurting the plan that God has for someone else, and yet, God’s plan is never
derailed. No matter what other people may do to us, do we really trust that
God’s plan is still at work in our lives? So, I’ll ask again... How powerful do
you think God is?
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I
love You. I know that with you all things are possible. Lord, help me grow in
my faith so that I can see more clearly and trust more deeply in your power and
plan for my life. Amen.
Discussion/Reflection
Questions: Can you think of an instance where God’s power has been at work in
your personal life? What is He doing now?
